TimeKettle Translator

Wendi Hale - Teton Middle School, Driggs

$700.00

This project will equip the School Counseling Department with Timekettle translation earbuds to remove language barriers that often limit students' access to social-emotional support, academic guidance, and family engagement. In our rural community—where many families are Spanish-speaking or newcomers—counselors frequently navigate conversations that are deeply personal, time-sensitive, or emotionally complex. Real-time translation allows counselors to communicate directly with students and families during individual counseling sessions, crisis response, restorative conversations, and academic planning meetings.

This technology into daily counseling practice, parent conferences, discipline and attendance interventions, and family outreach, we ensure that every student and caregiver can fully participate in decisions that affect their well-being. The earbuds create immediate, practical access to multilingual communication, strengthening trust, reducing misunderstandings.

Bilingual Books to Support Literacy and Character Development

Rendall Seely - Rendezvous Upper Elementary School, Driggs

$689.00

This project will provide a complete grade-level set of English and Spanish books that align with the Character Strong values currently being taught at our school. All students in this classroom are newcomer students who are simultaneously learning a new language, adjusting to a new school culture, and developing social-emotional skills.

The classroom library includes 40 English titles and 14 Spanish titles, allowing students to access content in their home language while building English proficiency. These books directly reinforce lessons related to empathy, respect, responsibility, perseverance, and community.

By integrating these texts into daily instruction, students will strengthen language development while deepening their understanding of character education concepts. This project supports the dual-language nature of our program and provides culturally responsive, accessible resources that help students feel represented, supported, and connected as learners.

Math Graphing Supplies

Marci Jackson - South Fremont High School, St. Anthony

$798.00

I am requesting a grant for the 3 teachers that teach the same 3 classes: algebra, geometry and geometry 2. This past year our budgets were cut and all classroom funding went to $0.

We would love to give our students "interactive xy-axis graph mats" that stick to the vertical whiteboards. These mats are large (2 feet by 2 feet), so student work is easily seen from across the room. They are magnetic and can be remove easily when not needed. They work well with dry erase markers. We would like to purchase 21 mats (7 mats per classroom) to be used with small groups. Currently, when students draw a graph on the vertical whiteboard, it takes up time for them to draw the lines and numbers, their work is not precise, and the lesson objective is harder to see (like parallel and perpendicular lines).

Purchasing magnetic dry erase xy axis mats would help our students graph accurately and quickly. They would be able to work in small groups at the vertical whiteboards, increasing collaboration with peers, which would improve classroom learning and teaching. Students would be able to make connections using multiple representations, and it would allow them to better construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of their peers.
