Allyson Abarca - Rigby High School, Rigby
$800.00
This project has been designed specifically for Spanish learning students who will be taking the hispanic culture class during third trimester this school year. The project requires hands-on activities. In some cases the activities will be facilitated by the teacher, while others will be lead by students.
When students are in charge, they will have the responsibility to research one aspect of culture and present it to the class, while their classmates will have to apply the information they got. Students will investigate about tradition, music, food, or other. They will have to explain and present. As an example, a student presents a traditional food "quesadillas" they will explain the origin and popularity of the food, and then show the class how to make one. The whole class will prepare quesadillas and then will have to answer questions about the dish or the process.

Enhancing Learning Environments Through Accessible Audio
Brianna Stahly-Hale - New Horizons Dual Language School, Nampa
$600.00
This project seeks to enhance language acquisition and literacy skills among kindergartners in a dual language school by providing them with new headphones. Access to high-quality audio resources is essential for young learners to develop proficiency in both languages of instruction. However, many kindergartners lack access to headphones, hindering their ability to engage with educational materials effectively. By acquiring new headphones, I aim to address this gap and support early language development in dual language education.
The goal of this project is to procure and distribute new headphones for dual language kindergartners, tailored to the needs of young learners. These headphones will be specifically designed to be child-friendly, durable, and comfortable for extended use. They will be used during language instruction, interactive learning activities, and literacy development exercises in both languages of instruction.
